Renowned promoter Oscar De La Hoya shared his thoughts on former five-weight world champion and American boxer Floyd Mayweather.
In an interview with the YouTube channel Club Shay Shay, De La Hoya highlighted Mayweather's professionalism and unique fighting style.
Oscar De La Hoya
Mayweather's a professional. He knows how to stay lean, stay active, and always be in the gym. Fighters and kids who want to become champions should emulate exactly what Floyd did inside the ring and in the gym. What makes him unique is obviously his boxing ability, but his ring generalship is what impresses me the most. He knows how to pick his spots... how to tire you out without even throwing punches—it's crazy.
Mayweather last stepped into the ring against MMA fighter John Gotti III in June 2023. Floyd won that match after his opponent was disqualified for multiple rule violations. His professional boxing record boasts 50 victories (27 by knockout) and zero losses.
