UFC President Dana White commented on the loss of former heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou to Anthony Joshua.
At the press conference after UFC 299 White said:
Dana White
If Fury had prepared for the fight and didn't show up looking like he had eaten Tyson Fury, that's probably how the fight would've ended as well. Listen, you know how I feel about crossovers into boxing. That's how they end, just like that.
Joshua and Ngannou faced each other in the main event of the boxing night that took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on the night of March 9th. In that fight, Anthony secured victory with a knockout in the second round.
The 37-year-old Ngannou made his professional boxing debut against WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in October 2023. The fight went the distance and ended with Francis' defeat in a split decision by the judges.
