Famous sports insider Dave Meltzer has stated that the heavyweight bout between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury failed in terms of pay-per-view sales.
Melzer said on Observer Radio:
I will have the exact numbers tomorrow, but they were terrible. Way below an AEW PPV. Possibly 10k for TV orders. I will have the streaming tomorrow. It was nothing close to Canelo or Diaz-Paul buys.
Recall, the fight between Ngannou and Fury was held in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) on the night of October 29. This confrontation ended with the victory of Tyson by a separate decision of judges. He has 34 wins (24 by knockout), one draw and no defeats in the professional ring.
Ngannou has 17 wins and three losses in MMA. He now has one fight and one loss in boxing.
