Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou revealed that when he first started boxing, many people discouraged him.
Ngannou told TNT Sports:
I really believe that everything is possible. The moment that I went to do boxing for the first time, I was 22 years old and people thought I was crazy. Even my mom told me, ‘Hey son, I love you and I’ll always support you, but I hope that you come to your senses at some point in time.’ Right? Until I proved them wrong.
Ngannou will take on WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury on October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for a boxing rules bout.
Ngannou last fought against Ciryl Gane in January 2022 at UFC 270. In that confrontation, Francis won by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 17 wins and three losses in mixed martial arts.
