The head of Queensberry Promotions Frank Warren said that the fight between WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO champion Oleksandr Usyk and WBC champion Tyson Fury will not take place until early April.
Frank Warren for talkSport
We're very far along in our negotiations, but there are a couple of things we need to work on. I think pretty soon we'll be able to announce a date. Hopefully it will be in late March or early April. Fingers crossed, we're putting the fight off until that date.
Previously, the fight was scheduled for March 4.
Usyk had his last fight against Anthony Joshua in August 2022. In this fight, the Ukrainian boxer won by split decision. Usyk scored 20 wins (13 KOs) without a single defeat.
The 34-year-old Fury had his last fight against Derek Chisora in December, 2022. That fight ended with Tyson's TKO victory in the tenth round. Last April, Fury defeated Dillian Whyte by TKO in the sixth round. He has 33 wins (24 by TKO) and no losses.
