The representatives of the undisputed world champion in the junior featherweight division, Japanese boxer Naoya Inoue, and the mandatory WBO and IBF title challenger, Australian Sam Goodman, have agreed on the terms for their fight.
According to ESPN, the boxers are close to signing a contract for the bout, which is scheduled for December 24 in Japan.
Inoue last entered the ring in September 2024, claiming victory over TJ Doheny with a technical knockout in the seventh round. He boasts a record of 28 wins (25 by knockout) and no losses.
Goodman had his last fight in July 2024, defeating Thachtana Luangphon by unanimous decision. He holds a record of 19 wins (eight by knockout) and no losses.
