Former five-division world champion and American boxer Floyd Mayweather has commented on the potential rematch with Filipino Manny Pacquiao.
In January, Pacquiao stated that a second fight with Mayweather could take place in 2024 in the Japanese Rizin league.
In an interview with The Pivot Podcast on YouTube Mayweather said:
Floyd Mayweather
When Manny Pacquiao spoke about that, he shouldn’t have because there’s a time and a place for everything. Just by him saying my name they gave me a check for $4 million. I don’t like to throw certain individuals under the bus but remember, he got famous because they said he could be the guy that could possibly dethrone the king. Did it happen? Absolutely not.
The first fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather took place in May 2015 in Las Vegas, where Mayweather won by unanimous decision. Mayweather has 50 wins (27 by knockout) and no losses in professional boxing. Pacquiao has 62 wins (39 by knockout), eight losses, and two draws.
