Former IBF junior welterweight champion Russian Sergey Lipinets will fight current IBF champion Subriel Matías of Puerto Rico on August 27.
Lipinets, 34, last competed in the ring in August, 2022, beating Omar Figueroa by TKO in the eighth round. He has 17 wins (13 by TKO) and two defeats under his belt.
Matias, 31, beat Jeremias Ponce in the fifth round in February 2023 to win the vacant IBF world title. He has 19 wins (19 by knockout) and one loss.
