WBO World Champion in the junior welterweight category, Teofimo Lopez, addressed the prospect of a potential fight with WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson.
Lopez said in the podcast "Come And Talk 2 Me":
To be real, I ain’t trying to give the man his first loss. I’ll let somebody else handle that. I’ve seen Shakur lose in the amateurs cause we all from that class, and it ain’t a good look. It was one time especially in Vegas, National Golden Gloves 2015. He lost to Ruben Villa and he wanted to go up to the rooftop of the hotel and wanted to jump off. Yeah. I ain’t trying to have actual blood on my hands.
Lopez last stepped into the ring in June 2024, where he won a unanimous decision against Steve Claggett. His record stands at 21 wins (13 by knockout) and one loss.
Stevenson’s most recent fight took place in July 2024, where he secured a unanimous decision victory over Artem Arutyunyan. He remains undefeated with 22 wins (ten by knockout).
