Promotion company Top Rank Boxing officially announced the fight for the vacant IBF lightweight title between Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko and Australian George Kambosos. The fight will take place on May 12 at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia.
Lomachenko last fought against Devin Haney in May 2023.
In this fight Vasyl was defeated by unanimous decision. He has 17 wins (11 by knockout) and three losses. Kambosos last entered the ring against Maxie Hughes in July 2023. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended in favor of George by majority decision. He has 21 wins (10 by knockout) and two losses on his record.
