Shane Watson, manager of heavyweight Joseph Joyce, said the Brit activated a rematch clause with interim WBO world champion Zhang Zhilei.

Joyce vs. Zhilei took place on April 16 in London. In that confrontation, Joseph was defeated by a technical knockout in the sixth round.
Joyce had a fight against Joseph Parker in Manchester in September 2022. Joyce won that fight by TKO in the 11th round. He has 15 wins (14 by KO) and one loss. Zhilei has 25 wins (20 by KO), one draw and one defeat.
