Head of the Matchroom Boxing promotional company Eddie Hearn commented on the upcoming heavyweight bout between Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang. The fight will take place on June 1 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Hearn said in an interview with YouTube channel Seconds Out:
Obviously spoke to him in the build up last time when we were doing the press stuff in Saudi. He looks great and ready to go. I'll get into him this week, make sure he's up for it, which he will be, his career's on the line at a high level of the sport.
Wilder, 38, last stepped into the ring in December 2023, losing to Joseph Parker by unanimous decision. He has 43 wins (42 by knockout), three losses and one draw on his record.
Zhilei, 40, last fought in March 2024, losing to Joseph Parker by majority decision. He has 26 wins (21 by knockout), two losses and one draw.
