The head of Matchroom Boxing Eddie Hearn spoke about the start of negotiations on a mini-tournament of boxing, featuring Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder.
According to the promoter, the event will take place in Saudi Arabia in December 2023 and the promoters will spend about $400 million on boxers' fees.
Earlier, WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury denied information about his participation in this tournament.
Recall that Usyk and Fury were scheduled to meet in the ring on April 29, but negotiations over the fight derailed at the last minute.
Fury had his last fight against Derek Chisora in December, 2022. In this fight Tyson won by TKO in the tenth round.
Last time Usyk came to the ring was in August, last year, against Anthony Joshua. That fight lasted the whole distance and ended in favor of Oleksandr by split decision.
Joshua had his last fight against Jermaine Franklin on April 1. In this fight Anthony won by unanimous decision. The last time Wilder came to the ring against Robert Helenius was last October. That fight ended in Deontay's favor by knockout in the first round.
