The WBA lightweight world champion, American boxer Gervonta Davis, has declined a fight with British boxer Conor Benn. This was announced by the head of the promotional company Matchroom Boxing, Eddie Hearn.
In an interview with the YouTube channel iFL TV Hearn said:
We made him an offer, which he felt he didn't want to discuss further," Hearn told iFL TV. "...It was over the $10 [million guaranteed] but it also had PPV bonuses beyond that, gate bonuses beyond that. So it could've been $20 million, could've been $25 million. But he didn't really want to discuss it.
27-year-old Benn last entered the ring in February 2024, securing a victory over Peter Dobson by unanimous decision. He boasts 23 wins (14 by knockout) and no losses.
