Former interim WBC lightweight world champion, American Ryan Garcia said he aims to win a world title in the junior welterweight division.
I’m excited, thank God for this opportunity to showcase my skills again, come back, and hopefully get a title at 140. That’s what I’m gunning for. First I gotta get through Oscar, and I know that’s gonna be a tough task, but we’ve been training hard. If I expect to become a champion, I can’t take any easy fights and think that’s going to get me there.
Garcia will face Duarte in the ring on Boxing Night in San Antonio, USA, which takes place on the night of December 3 at the Alamodome Arena.
Garcia last fought against Gervonta Davis in April of this year in Las Vegas. In that confrontation, Ryan was defeated by technical knockout in the seventh round. He has 23 wins (19 by knockout) and one defeat on his record.
