U.S. boxer Ryan Garcia said on his social media that there was a spy on his team who was passing information to his compatriot Gervonta Davis' camp.
Actually sad I had a mole in my camp. Like wtf that’s crazy but thank God it’s brought to light now. Also, didn’t mean for that to come off as an excuse or anything. I lost, period. I’ll come back but I’m just shocked that part of my team crossed me, someone close to me. Unbelievable. But it’s a testimony that you must be aware of everyone.
On the night of April 23, Garcia had a fight against Davis. The fight was stopped in the seventh round. The referee recorded Davis' victory by technical knockout after Ryan did not get up after 10 seconds.
Garcia, 24, had his previous fight against Javier Fortuna in July 2022. In that confrontation, Ryan won by TKO in the sixth round. He has 23 wins (19 by knockout) and one loss.
