Frank Warren, promoter of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, has spoken out regarding his ward's problems with bipolar disorder.
Boxing Scene quotes Warren as saying:
Frank Warren
I get pissed off when people keep talking about how he contradicts himself. He does that because he’s bipolar. He's one of the best boxers we've had and done everything asked of him, overcoming demons that most people would never have gotten out of, let alone go and fight. He was a drug addict and a boozer and he's come out of it and won the title.
Recall, Fury on May 18 will hold a fight against the champion of the WBA, WBO and IBF Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
The 35-year-old Fury last fought in October 2023, defeating Francis Ngannou by split decision. He has 34 wins (24 by knockout), one draw and no losses.
