WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury revealed on social media that he received an offer from the UFC for a hybrid fight against the league's heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
I’ve been in talks with Francis Ngannou for a hybrid fight. There’s talks of me and Jon Jones doing a hybrid fight as we talk, right now. I received an offer from the UFC yesterday, so you never know what’s going to happen. The future’s bright, for sure, and there’s a lot of options out there.
As a reminder, a hybrid fight is a confrontation under the rules of boxing in MMA gloves in a cage. Fury and Ngannou were negotiating such a fight at the end of 2022.
Jones, 35, last stepped into the octagon against Ciryl Gane. Their fight took place in March of this year at the UFC 285 tournament. The fight ended in Jon's favor by a chokehold in the first round. He has 27 wins and one loss.
Fury, 34, last came to the ring last December against Derek Chisora. That fight was stopped in the tenth round and ended in Tyson's favor by TKO. He has 33 wins (24 by KO), one draw and no losses.
