WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury said that he intends to hold a bout under the rules of mixed martial arts against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou.
Recall, Fury and Ngannou will hold a fight under the rules of boxing on October 29 in Garden Arabia.
Fury said:
I’d like to fight Ngannou in the cage, I think I can beat him for sure. He’s not a good wrestler; he’s known for striking, and I’m a better striker than him. In little gloves, I’d knock him out in seconds. I’d fight [current UFC heavyweight champion] Jon Jones also in the cage, if the money was right.
Fury last stepped into the ring against Derek Chisora in December 2022. This fight ended in favor of Tyson by technical knockout in the tenth round. He has 33 wins (24 by knockout), one draw and no losses.
Ngannou had a fight against Ciryl Gane in the main event of UFC 270 in January 2022. In this confrontation, Francis won by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 17 wins and three losses on his record in MMA.
