WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury shared his thoughts on his upcoming boxing bout against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou on October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Fury said:
If I lose to a No. 1 contender or another champion, then people would say, 'oh, he lost to another champion.' But if I lost to an MMA guy, I'm never going to be able to show my face in public again. There's going to be ridicule and people are going to chuck it in my face forever.
Ngannou last fought against Ciryl Gane in January 2022 at UFC 270. In this confrontation Francis won by unanimous decision of judges. He has 17 wins and three losses on his record.
Fury last entered the ring against Derek Chisora in December 2022. This fight ended in favor of Tyson by technical knockout in the tenth round. He has 33 wins (24 by knockout), one draw and no defeats.
