British middleweight fighter Darren Till, formerly of the UFC, has announced the launch of his own boxing promotion Gorilla Fight Club.
The promotion, which will be based in Africa, is a joint project of Till and South African businessman and politician Duduzane Zuma.
Our goal is to take the brand to a global level, and with a highly qualified team on board, we have everything we need to succeed. We will have exciting events with global stars from all areas, whether they are athletes, musicians, actors or influencers, all of them can meet in a boxing ring.
"It's a whole new concept that combines sports and entertainment and brings together many popular global stars with a huge fan base from a wide variety of industries," Zuma said.
Till, 30, had his last fight in December 2022 at UFC 282, losing to Dricus Du Plessis by submission (neck crank) in the third round.
Till made his UFC debut under the banner in May 2015, defeating Wendell Oliveira Marques by second-round knockout at UFC Fight Night 67. He has 18 wins and five losses under his belt.
