Former Heavyweight Champion George Foreman Passes Away

Former heavyweight world champion and renowned American boxer George Foreman has died at the age of 76, as confirmed by his family on social media.

Foreman's last fight took place against Shannon Briggs in November 1997 in Atlantic City, USA. In a match that went the distance, George lost by a majority decision.

Foreman made his professional debut in June 1969, facing fellow American Don Waldheim. The fight, which was stopped in the third round, ended in George's favor by technical knockout. He achieved 76 victories (68 by knockout) and suffered five losses over his career.
