Former WBO super middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net expressed his strong belief that Dmitry Bivol is the real winner of his fight against Artur Beterbiev, who became the undisputed world champion in the light heavyweight division.
I saw the fight differently from the judges. I had Bivol winning by one or two rounds. But when I saw Ramzan Kadyrov in Arthur's corner, I understood that the victory would not be Bivol’s. Perhaps Beterbiev was awarded the win due to the age difference or to set up a second or third fight. Either way, it was very interesting, and a rematch is absolutely necessary.
For context, Beterbiev defeated Bivol during a boxing event in Riyadh on the night of October 13. The match ended with judges scoring it 114-114, 115-113, and 116-112 in favor of Artur. Promoter Turki Alalshikh said after the fight that he would try to arrange another meeting between the two Russian boxers.
