It's encouraging that two representatives of the local boxing school are performing at such a high level. And it's not just boxing – there are many Russians who are advanced in mixed martial arts as well. This is a significant victory for Russian and Soviet boxing schools. Two of the strongest and undefeated fighters are from Russia. It was a very close fight. I was surprised that Beterbiev seemed upset, as if he had lost this match.
"Bivol, on the other hand, was confident in his victory, he threw his hands up. That was impressive. I felt Dmitry won because of his confidence in his performance. It seems a rematch is obvious. I haven’t heard any statements from Bivol's team. It seems they are dissatisfied with the judges’ decision," Shlemenko said.
In the boxing event held in Riyadh, Beterbiev secured victory over Bivol by majority decision, becoming the undisputed world champion in the light heavyweight division.
