The head of Matchroom Boxing promotional company Eddie Hearn spoke about the terms of possible disqualification of American professional boxer Ryan Garcia.
On April 21, Garcia defeated Devin Haney by majority decision. On May 1, it became known that Ryan passed a positive test for ostarine. His B doping sample also came back positive for the banned substance.
Hearn told YouTube channel Fight Hub TV:
It could be six months, or it could be a year. If it can be proven that he intentionally cheated, it could be two years, three years. I guess it’s going to be somewhere between six months and a year.
Garcia, 25, had his previous fight in December 2023, defeating Oscar Duarte Jurado by knockout in the eighth round. He has 25 wins (20 by knockout) and one loss on his record.
