Two-weight world boxing champion Devin Haney has filed a lawsuit against Mexican boxer Ryan Garcia, according to MMA Fighting.
Haney's camp accuses Garcia of unjust enrichment from a boxing event, physical assault, and fraud, while also demanding a reevaluation of the financial distribution from the fight's outcome.
Moreover, Haney believes he has suffered reputational damage and physical injuries that led to emotional and mental distress.
To recap, the fight took place in April this year in Brooklyn. Initially, Ryan was declared the winner by a majority decision. However, he was subsequently suspended for a year due to a failed doping test, and the result of his fight with Haney was overturned. Garcia’s professional boxing record stands at 24 wins (20 by knockout) and one loss.
