American boxer Gervonta Davis, the current WBA lightweight champion, has announced that he is preparing to end his professional boxing career.
It’s over with after this year. This is trash, garbage. I’m out. I’m fed up with it. I don’t care about belts. I don’t care about none of that. I just had a boy. I don’t want to have to keep fighting and getting punched and all that.
Davis is set to return to the ring against Lamont Roach on March 1 in Brooklyn, USA, as part of a boxing event.
Davis last fought against Frank Martin in June of this year, where he secured a knockout victory in the eighth round. His professional record stands at 30 wins, with 28 by knockout, and no losses.
