Terence Crawford, the interim WBO champion and WBA titleholder in the super welterweight division, responded to Saul Alvarez's victory over Edgar Berlanga.

On September 15 in Las Vegas, Canelo won by unanimous decision (117-110, 118-109, 118-109) and successfully defended his WBA, WBC, and WBO titles in the super middleweight category.
