The World Boxing Association (WBA) has announced that German boxer Mahmoud Omeirat Charr, previously known as Manuel Charr, has reclaimed the WBA regular heavyweight title and is scheduled to make a title defense against Jarrell Miller by October 14.
According to the website of the organization, reinstating Charr as champion was part of the agreement that ended the legal battle between the boxer and the WBA.
Recall that Charr did not enter the ring for a long time and was stripped of his WBA (Regular) title due to inactivity in January 2021. After that, Daniel Dubois, who defeated Trevor Bryan, became the regular champion of the WBA.
Charr, 38, last fought in December 2022, defeating Nuri Seferi by technical knockout in the second round. He has 34 wins (20 by knockout) and four losses on his record.
