Renowned British promoter Eddie Hearn, representing the interests of Mexican Saul Alvarez, spoke about the possibility of a fight between his ward and the undefeated American Terence Crawford.
Hearn was quoted by talkSPORT as saying:
When I met Saul, he wasn’t crazy about that Crawford fight. He just felt that having a welterweight moving up to light-middleweight and then super-middleweight, he wouldn’t get much credit for that victory. I think that if the money is right, honestly, he will fight anyone. I don’t think Crawford is necessarily someone he would choose to fight.
On May 5th in Las Vegas (USA), Canelo secured a unanimous decision victory over Jaime Munguia. The 33-year-old Mexican now has 61 wins (39 by knockout), two losses, and two draws to his name.
Crawford's next fight will be against Israel Madrimov for the WBA title in the first middleweight class on August 3rd in Los Angeles (USA). The 36-year-old Crawford has 40 wins (31 by knockout) and remains undefeated.
