Middleweight world champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez declined a $55 million offer for a bout against David Benavidez. This was reported by journalist Ricardo Celis.
The offer came from Benavidez's manager, Sampson Lewkowicz. In addition to the fee, Alvarez was offered a percentage of pay-per-view sales. Benavidez will now have his next fight for the interim WBC light heavyweight title against Oleksandr Gvozdyk.
Alvarez's last fight was against John Ryder in May 2023, where Saul secured a victory by unanimous decision. In his professional boxing career, he has 59 wins (39 by knockout), two losses, and two draws.
