World champion Canelo Álvarez, the holder of the WBC, WBA, and WBO titles, shared his thoughts regarding the potential end of his professional boxing career.
Canelo Álvarez for TMZ
In the sport of boxing, I already accomplished everything. I fought everybody. I have been the pound-for-pound king, fighter of the year – everything. If we are talking about money, it's never enough. But it's not just about money. It's about enjoying everything. I am still enjoying boxing. I'm going to do my thing, and then 37, 38, is the moment to go.
Canelo is set to return to the ring against William Scull on May 3 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
His last match was against Edgar Berlanga in September 2024, where he won by unanimous decision after going the full distance, defending his WBA, WBC, and WBO titles at super middleweight. His professional record stands at 62 wins (39 by knockout), 2 losses, and 2 draws.
