Undisputed world champion in the super middleweight division Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and his representatives entered into negotiations with Jaime Munguia to hold a fight in Mexico. This was reported by the BoxingScene news outlet.
Alvarez last fought against Jermell Charlo in September 2023 in Las Vegas. Saul won that fight by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 60 wins (39 by knockout), two losses and two draws.
Munguia last entered the ring against John Ryder in January of this year in Phoenix. That fight, which was stopped in the ninth round, ended in Jaime's favor by technical knockout. He has 43 wins (34 by knockout) and no defeats on his record.
