Robert Garcia, coach of unified middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, revealed under what conditions the Mexican will face David Benavidez.
In an interview with YouTube channel 210BoxingTv Garcia said:
Robert Garcia
Canelo will fight Benavidez if the money is right. It doesn't look like PBC has the financial backing to afford to bankroll a fight between Canelo and Benavidez, so it's going to take a different promoter to make it happen.
Recall that Canelo turned down an offer to fight Benavidez for $55 million.
Canelo's last fight was against Jermall Charlo in September 2023. In that match, Saul won by unanimous decision. He has 60 wins (39 by knockout), two losses, and two draws to his name.
