The British Boxing Council has commented on the news that Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk's team has urged British fighter Tyson Fury to shave his beard prior to their rematch, scheduled for December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
According to The Sun, the British Council stated that Fury will need to shave his beard if Usyk's team continues to insist on this. However, the resolution of this matter ultimately falls to the local athletic commission.
The first fight between Usyk and Fury took place in May of this year in Riyadh. This bout headlined a boxing event in Saudi Arabia and lasted the full 12 rounds, after which Usyk was awarded the victory by split decision. This win earned him the title of undisputed world champion in the heavyweight division.
Usyk holds a professional boxing record of 22 wins (14 by knockout) and no losses. Fury has a record of 34 wins (24 by knockout), one loss, and one draw.
