Sebastian Fundora, the WBC and WBO world champion in the light middleweight division, will not participate in the scheduled bidding set for May 2 for his fight against WBO mandatory challenger Xander Zayas. This information comes from BoxingScene citing a source.
Instead, Fundora is planning to have a rematch with Australian boxer Tim Tszyu in Las Vegas. The possible date for the bout is July 19, although Fundora’s promoter Sampson Lewkowicz mentioned that a final decision has yet to be made, as they are considering three different dates in July and August.
This is the fight that everyone wants to see. It will be raining blood.
The first match between Fundora and Tszyu took place in March 2024 in Las Vegas, where Fundora won by split decision after going the distance.
In his professional boxing career, Fundora has 22 wins (14 by knockout), one loss, and one draw. Tszyu has 25 wins (18 by knockout) and two losses.
