Russian Dmitry Bivol, the WBA light heavyweight champion, commented on his victory over Mexican Gilberto Ramirez.

The fight went well. But I can do better. Ramirez has good body punches, but they didn't bother me. I proved to myself that I can box at the top level, that I can beat the best boxers in the world, that I'm a big champion.
Bivol met Ramirez on the night of November 6 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This confrontation lasted the whole distance and ended in favor of Dmitriy by unanimous decision of the judges. Thus, he defended his light heavyweight title.
Last May, Bivol fought a representative of Mexico, Saul Alvarez. Bivol won this fight by unanimous decision of the judges. He had 21 wins (11 KOs) and no defeats on his record.
