Two-time world middleweight champion American David Benavidez has relinquished his interim super middleweight championship belt, according to BoxingScene.
According to the source, Benavidez is going to stay in the light-heavyweight category, where he also holds the interim title and the status of mandatory challenger of Artur Beterbiev.
Benavidez had his last fight in June 2024, defeating Oleksandr Gvozdyk by unanimous decision. He has 29 wins (24 by knockout) and no losses on his record.
