Undisputed super middleweight world champion Saul Alvarez will fight the undisputed light middleweight world champion Jermall Charlo on September 16.
It was reported by Boxing247. The day before, Alvarez signed a three-fight contract with Premier Boxing Champions. The venue of the tournament will be announced later.
Charlo, 33, last fought in the ring in May, 2022 against Brian Castaño. That fight was stopped in the tenth round and ended in Jermall's favor by knockout. He has 35 wins (19 by knockout), one loss and one draw.
Alvarez, 32, last fought John Ryder on May 7. That fight went the full distance and ended in Saul's favor by unanimous decision. He has 59 wins (39 by knockout), two draws and two losses.
