Arsenal winger Beth Mead has been selected in the England squad for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers. The winger got overlooked for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. England lost to Australia four-three in the Quarterfinals. Mead has earned the call-up after nailing three goals in two games to begin a phenomenal WSL season for Arsenal.
She had the following to say on her selection: "I think I've channelled my disappointment of non-selection for the Olympics in the right way. I'm delighted with the way I've started the season. I think I've just got my head down through pre-season, performed well and luckily for me it's starting to show on the pitch at the moment."
