World basketball champion with the German national team Dennis Schroder made his professional football debut, according to ESPN.
The 30-year-old basketball player played for Germania Bleckenstedt in the sixth division of German football. Schroder spent 63 minutes on the field as a left-winger in the match against Göttingen (1:5) and did not make any significant contributions.
Schroder commented on his football debut:
Not the result I wanted for my first ever official football game.
Since 2013, the German player has been playing in the NBA. Last season, he played for the Brooklyn Nets, averaging 14 points, 6.1 assists, and 3.0 rebounds.
