Boston Celtics' small forward Jayson Tatum is close to signing a new significant contract with the team, but has kept the issue quiet throughout the season, being focused on the championship battle.

Tatum has been with the Boston Celtics since June 2017, having been selected by the National Basketball Association (NBA) draft as the third overall pick.
Boston defeated Dallas 4-1 in the NBA playoffs finals and clinched their first championship title since 2008. The winners secured their 18th title in club history, reclaiming the title of the most successful team in the league from the Los Angeles Lakers, who have 17 championships to their name.
