Russian UFC fighter Magomed Ankalaev told MMA.Metaratings.ru about his future in case of victory over the Brazilian Thiago Santos he will fight with on the night of March 13 in Las Vegas as part of UFC Vegas 50.
“Those who are above me also deserve to fight for the title. Jan Błachowicz and Aleksandar Rakić are supposed to fight each other, but I don't know yet when the fight will take place. I think the UFC will solve this problem. For my part, it is all the same who I’ll fight with.
“If I win and the organization decides that I need to do another fight, I am ready to fight and then move on. The UFC is testing me well, and we are ready to deal with any challenges,” Ankalaev said.
Ankalaev had his last fight against the Swiss Volkan Oezdemir in October 2021 as part of the UFC 267 tournament. In this confrontation, the Russian fighter won by unanimous decision. He has 16 wins and one loss.
Santos last entered the octagon against his compatriot Johnny Walker in October last year as part of the UFC Vegas 38 tournament. This fight ended in favor of Thiago by unanimous decision. He has 22 wins and nine losses.
