MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene praising the 114-run stand off 54 balls between the duo said
It was brilliant upfront. RO took control early, SKY followed up with brilliance. That’s what experience does.

Rohit (76* off 45) and Suryakumar (68* off 30) chased down CSK’s 176/5 in just 15.4 overs, dismantling a bowling attack that struggled to find answers. The win lifted MI to sixth with eight points from eight games.

Despite poor form leading into the match, Rohit silenced critics with a fluent knock featuring four fours and six sixes.

Jayawardene said
We had conversations, but he knew what he had to do. He played for the team throughout, even when the runs weren’t coming.

Suryakumar dazzled with innovation and shot-making, striking 68 runs from the final 28 balls faced in the chase. Earlier, *Jadeja (53)**, Dube (50) and Ayush Mhatre (32 off 15) lifted CSK to a respectable total after early stutters.

Brief Scores: CSK 176/5 (Jadeja 53*, Dube 50; Bumrah 2-25) MI 177/1 (Rohit 76*, SKY 68*) in 15.4 overs. MI won by 9 wickets.

Meanwhile, in New Chandigarh, Virat Kohli continued his purple patch, leading RCB to a seven-wicket win over Punjab Kings, avenging their defeat just two days earlier.

Kohli, who anchored the chase with 73 off 54 balls* as RCB reached 159/3 with 9 balls to spare, said
When you go from eight to ten points, it makes a massive difference. We’ve set ourselves up nicely.

Partner Devdutt Padikkal cracked 61 off 35, setting the tone early. Kohli, now with 67 IPL 50+ scores, said: “It’s coming together nicely this season. That intensity and feistiness was missing earlier.” PBKS had earlier posted 157/6, with Prabhsimran Singh (33) and Shashank Singh (31*) making key contributions.

Brief Scores: PBKS 157/6 (Prabhsimran 33; Krunal Pandya 2-25) RCB 159/3 (Kohli 73*, Padikkal 61) in 18.3 overs. RCB won by 7 wickets.
