Tom Aspinall will headline his third UFC London event when he clashes with fellow top-ten heavyweight Marcin Tybura. Last July at UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Aspinall, the English heavyweight lost for the first time in the promotion when he lasted all of fifteen seconds before being let down by his knees. One year on, the Englishman who had finished all his previous five opponents in the promotion will test his resolve and his knees against veteran Polish heavyweight Marcin Tybura. The number ten-ranked Pole will be keen to score a victory against the number five in the division, although the bookmakers are not inclined at the prospect of that happening and have sided with the Brit in early odds. UFC Fight Night: Aspinall vs. Tybura holds at the O2 Arena in London this weekend.

Tom Aspinall
Thirty-year-old Tom Aspinall is a standout performer. He started training martial arts before he was ten, following his father, a Jiu-Jitsu coach. After winning the British Open in Brazilian jiu-jitsu in all belt classes except black belt, Aspinall transitioned to mixed martial arts making his pro debut in 2014. He took his time before joining the UFC, choosing the Cage Warriors ahead of the UFC because he felt he needed more time to be ready. The Team Kaobon member has twelve stoppages in his twelve pro wins. He is 5-1 in the UFC and, barring the mishap with his knee against Blaydes could have been a contender by now. The Manchester native has recorded wins over serious heavyweight competitors, including Alexander Volkov, Sergey Spivak, and Andrei Arlovski.

Marcin Tybura
The Polish heavyweight is a veteran of mixed martial arts. Tybura debuted in the UFC 2016 and has competed actively since then. He previously fought for M-1 and was an M-1 Global Heavyweight Champion and M-1 Grand Prix 2013 Heavyweight Champion. The 37-year-old is on a two-fight winning streak after losing to Alexander Volkov in October 2021. The Polish stalwart is on an impressive run of 7-1 counting from 2020. His early years in the promotion were mixed, but the veteran seems to be getting better with age. A win over a top-five fighter here may catapult the University of Łódź graduate into contender status.
