Ranked heavyweights Sergei Pavlovich of Russia and Jairzinho Rosenstruik will clash in the main card of UFC Saudi Arabia in an intriguing fight that could end early or go the distance depending on the fighters’ strategies. Pavlovich arrives at the Octagon having lost his last two fights, while Suriname’s Rozenstruik is 2-0 in his last two and strategically out-hustled an exhausted Shamil Gazievto last March. Despite their current form, the Russian, recently contested for the interim heavyweight title, is a massive favorite to win.

Sergei Pavlovich
The UFC’s number four ranked heavyweight, Sergei Pavlovich was in Riyadh last year as the UFC made a maiden voyage to the kingdom in June. There, Pavlovich lost a decision to compatriot Alexander Volkov for a consecutive loss. The former FNG heavyweight champion had lost a short-notice interim heavyweight championship bout to Tom Aspinall in late 2023. Sergei Pavlovich won six straight fights to climb the rankings and get into title considerations before his twin setbacks. The 32-year-old, fighting out of Moscow, is a member of the Eagles MMA team. He debuted in the UFC in late 2018, losing his first fight before going on a six-fight streak. The most remarkable part of the winning run was that the Russian heavyweight fought and knocked out some of the notable names in the division. His resume includes knockouts of Curtis Blaydes, Tai Tuivasa, Derrick Lewis, and Shamil Abdurakhimov.
