Mackenzie Dern
Mackenzie Dern is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and mixed martial artist who has competed in the UFC since 2018. She is a former world No. 1 ranked IBJJF competitor.
Dern made her promotional debut against Ashley Yoder at UFC 222 in March 2018. She won the fight via split decision. Dern then faced Amanda Cooper at UFC 224 in May 2018. She won the fight via submission in the first round. A loss to Amanda Ribas in October 2019 marked her first career loss. She has since lost twice more to Marina Rodriguez and Yan Xiaonan. Her last three matches have been 1-2, and she comes into this fight off an October 2022 loss. The 30-year-old Brazilian-American has the most submission wins in the UFC Strawweight division (four), and the second-most submission wins in the UFC among women (four).

Angela Hill
At 38, Angela Hill is a veteran of mixed martial arts. Making her professional debut in 2014, the undefeated Kickboxer with a record of 16-0 first had a brief stint in the UFC in 2015. A loss to Rose Namajunas sent her back to Invicta FC, where she promptly snagged the Strawweight crown. Her second stint in the UFC has lasted several years now. However, Hill has only managed to gain momentum in batches. Between September 2019 and February 2020, she went on a three-fight win streak. She is currently experiencing a second wind, picking up consecutive wins in August and October 2022, including a win over Lupita Godinez. "Overkill" has the record for the most bouts in UFC Women's Strawweight division history with 21 fights and most losses, too (12). Understandably, she has the record for most total strikes landed in UFC Women's Strawweight division history.
