Following the botched date against Mike Tyson, Jake Paul has decided to use the original July 20 slot to stay in shape ahead of fighting Mike Tyson in November by facing off against mixed martial artist and the Bare-knuckle Fighting Championship's Mike Perry. The pair will compete over eight rounds at cruiserweight at the Amalie Arena in Florida. Ahead of the DAZN PPV event, Mike Perry, who has fought once in boxing, has boasted of knocking out his influencer opponent. Jake Paul, a former YouTuber and influencer, is the massive favorite.

Jake Paul
The 27-year-old boxer is on a three-fight win streak after dispatching Ryan Bourland earlier in the year with a TKO. Sporting a 9-1 record with the sole blemish a split decision against Tommy Fury, Jake Paul was in line for the biggest fight of his career when an ulcer flare-up pushed the bout against "Iron" Mike Tyson to November. Already in training camp before the cancellation, Paul quickly agreed to this match to stay fit and focused. Seen as a bit of a risk against the undefeated Perry, Paul claims he fears no man. Jake Paul took up boxing in 2020, moving to martial arts from social media. Although lacking amateur experience, the American has defeated mixed martial artists like Nate Diaz and Tyron Woodley in boxing.

When Paul vs. Tyson was rescheduled, I knew immediately that I wanted to still fight on Saturday, July 20. As I prepare for my fight against Iron Mike, I know there's no better opponent for me than Mike Perry. He's a proven knockout artist who has shown to be a maniac in and out of the ring. This is the perfect experience for me to gain in advance of facing Mike Tyson. But getting that experience comes with risk. Those who know me know I'm a risk taker, and while 'Platinum' Perry might try to end me, I'm Titanium Jake Paul, and I fear no man.
Mike Perry
The Florida resident started training boxing as a teen before taking up a career in MMA. Stacking up a run of knockouts in regional competitions, Perry earned a UFC contract and debuted in 2016. Following a five-year UFC career, Mike Perry moved to Bare Knuckle boxing where "Platinum" has been undefeated. Fighting at middleweight and light heavyweight, the 32-year-old has earned a 5-0 record, beating former MMA fighters like Michael Page, Luke Rockhold, and Thiago Alves. Perry knocked out former BKFC middleweight champion Alves in the first round last April. In 2015, Perry lost his boxing debut.

Jake Paul claims he fears no man, but on Saturday, July 20, the world will see the truth: he just made the worst mistake of his life in trying to get through me before Iron Mike. I'm going to make it look easy on Saturday, July 20, and I'm going to teach Jake Paul the most he's ever learned about fighting.
