UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is poised to defend his championship title against the number 2 ranked Jared Cannonier in the headline fight of UFC 276 at the T-Moblie Arena in Las Vegas. This will be the Style Bender's third fight after losing to Jan Blachowizc in the Light Heavyweight category. While Adesanya has said he is coming to have fun in the bout, Cannonier is focused and positive that he has what it takes to have the Performance of the Night fight needed to unseat the Middleweight champion.

Israel Adesanya
The Nigerian-born New Zealander has dominated the 185-pound category since making his debut in UFC in 2017. An exceptional striker, Adesanya has defeated all opponents who have come at him in the Middleweight division. He even had the luxury of moving up to challenge Jan Blachowicz in the Light Heavyweight division. Losing that fight, Adesanya has continued his dominance of the Middleweight division, as seen by his second win over number one middleweight ranked Robert Whittaker, with the second win coming in 2022. He has also garnered two wins over the No. 3–ranked Marvin Vettori. Adesanya is ranked number 3 in the UFC pound-for-pound men's rankings mostly due to his striking prowess based on slick movement and mastery of space and timing.

I'm stepping up off of my throne to take part in this, to exchange with my people, you guys, everybody, with Israel, you know what I'm saying? So that's where I'm coming from. That's my perspective. I'm here to win it. That's it.
Jared Cannonier
The American Jared Cannonier is ranked number 2 in the UFC Middleweight rankings. He joined UFC in 2015. Currently fighting in the Middleweight division, Cannonier has also fought in Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight. He has had a decent career in UFC, fighting some of the biggest names in UFC like Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira. He has won several 'Performance of the Night' and 'Fight of the Night' bonus awards, and in his 15 wins, 10 have come by way of knockout. In his last fight against Derek Brunson last January, he won the match - the first of a 6-fight new contract from the promotion - with a knockout in the second round.
It could be a clean fight if one can control that torrential ocean of techniques that he's throwing at you, you know, so that's a tall order right there. That's a hard task to do, but it's possible, and I don't need to throw as many techniques as he's throwing at me to make it work, so I plan on using all the right skills, all the right techniques, to make the fight so I can be the beneficiary of this exchange here, you know, so I can win.
