Riding unbeaten runs, Ignacio Bahamondes and L'udovit Klein clash in the main card opener of UFC on ESPN: Sandhagen vs. Font. A fight UFC matchmakers have been trying to set up since last year. The plan will be to extend their unbeaten runs and head towards the ranking places. Chilean Bahamondes followed his father into martial arts, starting in his native Chile. Slovakian Klein started training in boxing without his parents' knowledge before transitioning to BJJ. The UFC Fight Night takes place this weekend in Nashville, Tennessee.

Ignacio Bahamondes
Ignacio Bahamondes' path to martial arts followed his father, a former South American WKN kickboxing champion, into the sport. He later transitioned to MMA and, in 2020, was invited to the Dana White Contender Series 34. His second-round knockout of Edson Gomez handed him a UFC contract. Dropping his UFC debut via split decision to John Makdessi in early 2021, the 25-year-old Chilean has reeled out three consecutive wins since then, scoring a pair of third-round finishes before going the distance with veteran Trey Ogden last April. One theme that runs through Ignacio Bahamondes' fights is the struggle to gain weight. A couple of his fights have been at catchweight, and Ignacio Bahamondes returned to Lightweight on his debut due to weight issues.

L'udovit Klein
After catching the eye of Slovak MMA legend and former Bellator Light heavyweight champion, Attila Végh, L'udovit Klein's career got the needed boost and exposure. He was already an experienced amateur, so his professional career took him to several regional promotions in Europe. He finally landed his opportunity in the UFC as a replacement for Nate Landwehr at UFC 253. He won the bout via knockout, making his UFC bow in late 2020. After dropping two fights against Michael Trizano and Landwehr, L'udovit Klein is now unbeaten in three. The southpaw's last visit to the Octagon was a majority draw against Jai Herbert at UFC London last March.
